Our featured wine of the week: Purple Hands 2013 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir – This Pinot Noir is made by Cody Wright, Ken Wright’s son. Black cherry, currants and mulberry lead to flavors of red licorice, cassis, forest floor, tobacco and leather. There is power and finesse and this Pinot Noir has the terroir and honesty of the 2013 vintage. Suggested Food Pairings: A perfect pairing to fresh grilled salmon and grilled pork.

  • Eyrie Vineyards 2012 “Original Vines” Pinot Noir Reserve (94pts WS)– These vines were planted in 1965 by David “Papa Pinot” Lett. The wine is vibrant and dark in color, the Original Vines Reserve is impeccably balanced with a long lingering finish. Seductive pepper notes merge with a full spectrum of red fruit, providing the perfect combination of spicy and sweet. Supply is limited!

Our featured gourmet food of the week: La Caperelle Caperberries – These caperberries are from Spain. They are the unopened flower bud of the caper bush. Caperberries are tender but crunchy. Use as a garnish to sandwiches, to accompany cheeses and salumi, in salads or in pasta sauces.

    Join us Saturday, March 28th, from 1-4 p.m. for wine tasting featuring wines of Oregon Pinot Noir, Part 1.: Join us at the Cellar on 10th as we feature the first tasting of our Oregon Pinot Noir series for 2015 as our weekly wine tasting. We will be pouring a sampling of the many different styles of Pinot Noir made here in Oregon - from the big name top producers, to the small boutique producer – see just how diverse Oregon is with its world class winemaking. There will be a special treat of the day – what an opportunity to sample these fabulous wines. You’ll be sure to find a new favorite to pair with your best dish. Join us at Oregon's Premier Wine and Gift shop - The Cellar on 10th for our featured wine tasting Saturday from 1-4 p.m., mark your calendars!

    Be sure to check out our selection of Riedel wine glasses and decanters. Each glass is made specifically for each grape varietal. We carry both white and red varietal glasses.

    We carry SodaStream Basic, Electric and “Wood Edition” Source machines. Make your own sparkling water or your favorite soda at home for pennies on the dollar! With the Soda Makers you don’t have to worry about taking your empties back to the market, and you will also help to prevent our landfills being overrun by empty cans and bottles. The carbonizing bottles are BPA free and we carry the 1/2 and 1 liter carbonating bottles. Be sure to also check out the various soda syrups we have available. We also offer the carbonator exchange program in 60L & 130L.

    Make your own soda with either Cola or Fountain Mist (tastes like Mountain Dew) with SodaStream Soda Mix. They only have 8 grams of sugar and have 35 calories per 8 ounces as the mix doesn’t use corn syrup versus the name brands that have at least 35 grams of sugar and 140 calories. It tastes exactly like the name brand products. We also carry Cosmopolitan, Strawberry Daiquiri and Margarita non-alcoholic sparking cocktail mixers, just add your favorite spirit to dress it up.       The following is the article that appears in the magazine:
      The Cellar on 10th, Astoria, Ore.; MIKE WALLIS' restaurant and cellar sits at the mouth of the Columbia, and the list runs as the Columbia does, seemingly with Washington and Oregon representations split down the middle. Those looking for current vintages certainly won't be disappointed. There are seven from Barnard Griffin on top of eight from Beaux Freres. Near the bottom, Winter's Hill is followed by Woodward Canyon. There's also B.C. representation with ice wines from Mission Hill and Inniskillin.
