Andrew Rich 2013 “Croft” Sauvignon Blanc – Andrew’s best Sauvignon Blanc yet and great example of an awesome Oregon Sauvignon Blanc! Fruit is 100% from Croft Vineyard in the Willamette Valley. This blanc is crisp with a nose of pink grapefruit, pineapple, guava, passion fruit, citrus and a hint of gooseberry. Great citrus flavors abound on the palate and evolve into a long lingering, crisp finish with vibrant acidity.

New International Arrivals...

  • Cloudy Bay 2014 Sauvignon Blanc (New Zealand) – Here’s the latest release of this worldwide classic Sauvignon Blanc. Beautiful nose and flavors of white grapefruit, citrus, minerals, star fruit and kiwi with a clean, mineral finish that just beckons for another sip. This was a great growing season in New Zealand and this blanc will age for many years to come. Highly Recommended.
  • Cloudy Bay 2012 Pinot Noir (New Zealand) – The palate is focused with bittersweet chocolate, dark cherries, dark fruit and spice play with leather and hints of earthiness. Well balanced tannins linger on a persistent finish with a soft note of cranberry.
  • Weingut Knoll 2013 Federspiel Loibner Gruner Veltliner (Austria) – A beautiful example of this Austrian varietal grape. Notes of nectarine, apple and pear with a touch of lavender that evolve with some peppery depth in a lengthy, rich wine. A focused, bright style that’s quite pure.
  • Weingut Knoll 2013 Smaragd Loibner Riesling (Austria) – Wonderful fresh intensity to the rich aromatic nose. The palate is rich, dry and complex with lots of intensity and a minerally edge to the full fruit. Lovely notes of white peach and apple with well balanced acidity. A stunning wine.
  • Weingut Knoll 2013 Smaragd Reid Kreutles Gruner Veltliner (Austria) – Fresh, clean, almost crisp nose is gently spiced. The palate has lovely freshness and purity, and a nice texture. A bright wine with a peppery finish. This is a rich wine that has considerable depth and length. Perfect for your favourite heavier seafood dishes.

Our featured gourmet food of the week: Pizzacraft Tuscan Pizza Herb Blend – Explore Italy’s distinct regional pizza flavor with the Tuscan Pizza Herb Blend from Pizzacraft. Use this Pizza Herb Blend in your pizza sauce before cooking or use as a finishing flavor by sprinkling the herb blend on top of a cooked pizza. Also this herb blend is fantastic in a spaghetti sauce.

The following is the article that appears in the magazine:
The Cellar on 10th, Astoria, Ore.; MIKE WALLIS' restaurant and cellar sits at the mouth of the Columbia, and the list runs as the Columbia does, seemingly with Washington and Oregon representations split down the middle. Those looking for current vintages certainly won't be disappointed. There are seven from Barnard Griffin on top of eight from Beaux Freres. Near the bottom, Winter's Hill is followed by Woodward Canyon. There's also B.C. representation with ice wines from Mission Hill and Inniskillin.
